  • Resumen Espectáculo
  • The theme of the work is the discussion that is established between development and society. The central objective of this research is to understand if there is a relationship between the organization of the space environment of the city of Atibaia-SP and the determination of the forms of consumption in this territory. Thus, we have as empirical basis of the study the city of Atibaia, located in the state of São Paulo, where the development and the enterprises, which change and renew, have been installed with more intensity over the last 20 years. The work is justified by the importance and possibility of expanding academic research on the Region of Atibaia, besides contributing to the understanding of the construction of physical and social spaces and the processes of socioeconomic segregation. Therefore, the objective is to analyze the spaces of socialization and investigate the areas of segregation of consumption of the city of Atibaia. The work is mainly based on authors such as David Harvey, Milton Santos and Henri Lefebvre, who propose the spatial interactions of the city and social actors, also the analytical perspective of understanding the role of the city in the local and regional context. Thus, we propose to analyze the data regarding the growth of the city of Atibaia-SP and, finally, create a debate to understand the segregation of consumers in the municipality in which the consumption pattern constitutes a brand of social class, since consumption is not accessible to all, so that holders of economic capital have greater access to the products available in the city, public or private.

  • Resumen Espectáculo
  • The research correlates development, the city, the countryside and the natural environment; if routed through and about the question: Why is there no healthy association between city and nature? Thus, references capable of clarifying and illuminating the issue of genesis, the state of the art and the alternatives that arise from the presented panorama are studied. The general objective is to know about the periurbanization and its sociophysical dynamism in the Vila Nova neighborhood in the city of Campo do Meio (MG), to bring analyzes and criticisms about the subject and to collaborate for its constant development. For that, it was necessary to prepare environmental analysis charts to know the territory and thus, with planning tools in green infrastructure and urban morphology, contribute scientifically to the question of the mode of occupation in the encounter between rural and urban areas. Understanding the opportunity to approach peri-urbanization, together with urban morphology as a chance to favor the path towards an awareness of the importance of studies in these areas that facilitate infinite collective protections, consider here one of the keys to the future of cities in harmony with nature and strengthening local power, the community and the bond with the place.

  • Resumen Espectáculo
  • The projects of public managers for works to improve the infrastructure of urban space have
been characterized by the use of civil construction techniques, such as, for example, asphaltic paving of streets, including increasingly in small municipalities. These decision-making processes are most often carried out without proper management/supervision of public resources employed, with a lack of appropriate urban planning techniques added to the lack of projects to mitigate impacts resulting from the execution of works. In 2020, the public management of the city of Inconfidentes-MG, carried out paving works, notably without a prior technical study, with the use of asphalt coating in parts of the streets, including in areas considered at risk located in the identified parts with less slope and that historically, it already had records of urban floods, with residences very close to the banks of the Moji-Guaçu River, a watercourse that runs through the region and runs throughout the city's urban perimeter. Through analysis of satellite images, elaboration of thematic maps for the study area and documentary research, the present study was able to find evidence that the use of asphalt coating on the streets presented itself as a technique that did not bring significant apparent benefits to the population, especially the population that is already in a situation of vulnerability due to the proximity of their homes to the banks of the river.

  • Resumen Espectáculo
  • This research, carried out in the municipality of São Lourenço/MG, aims to describe the socio-technical and techno-political dynamics of data-driven urban mobility based on the use of platforms and their suitability under the General Data Protection Law (Law n. 13,709/18) . To this end, we verified before the public bodies the companies accredited and documented for the operation of urban mobility, as well as the applications allocated in the Google platform base called Playstore to analyze the controversies and controversies that have arisen regarding data protection, together with interviews of the Director of the local transit agency (SL TRANS) and owners of these startups. Mapping and describing mobility in this data-oriented context, we describe the network from the cartography of controversies, having as an investigative reference the Actor-Network Theory of Bruno Latour, in addition to the studies of Network Society by Manuel Castells and Cyberculture by Pierre Lévy, consistent in examining the effects and implications of technological change. After this tripod, we arrive at what André Lemos calls PDPA within contemporary society – Platformization, Datafication and Algorithmic Performativity, consistent with the notion of mediation and agency, since each user’s data is used with assets to train and build algorithms, not being more mere information, but determinants of decision models. Due to this cartographic context, we examine the evolution of the concept of privacy towards data protection and how it can and is impacting the users of such platforms. As a methodology, there is an exploratory dialectical research, consisting of mapping and describing mobility through applications, field research carried out through semi-structured questionnaires, conducting interviews, in addition to the qualitative-quantitative analysis of the applications. Therefore, it seeks to contribute so that the Municipality can guarantee the development through innovation and adequacy of its norms by demanding and allowing that the platform guarantees data protection.

  • Resumen Espectáculo
  • The use of individualized motorized modes of transport is sometimes prioritized due to the facilities offered to its users and, mainly, to the incentives directed to the infrastructure destined to these transports. Although urban mobility has been a concept that has been studied for some time, it is currently being widely discussed in urban management in response to the demands of the National Policy on Urban Mobility, which refer to the strategic management of urban space through the elaboration of the Urban Mobility Plan. Urban displacements are, among others, mainly due to work trips, the object for which this research was intended. The objective of this research was to analyze the displacements for work purposes in the Local Productive Arrangement (APL) of electronics and the relations with the infrastructure for the active modes of transport. In this way, bibliographical reviews were carried out about transport planning aimed at sustainable mobility with a focus on active modes of transport and on walking and cycling tools. Through a case study in the municipality of Santa Rita do Sapucaí, secondary data were collected identifying the geographic characteristics of the municipality and the companies present in the electronics APL. Then, the collection of primary data was carried out through the application of a questionnaire to understand the socioeconomic characteristics and the pattern of urban trips for work by APL workers, as well as the limitations found for the use of active modes of transport in daily life. This analysis allowed us to verify that the rainwater drainage capacity is a factor seen by the majority as very negative on the roads they travel. In this way, an indicator was created to measure it, contributing directly to the Walkability Index (iCam) of the Institute of Transport and Development Policies (ITPD). At the same time, a mapping of the companies was carried out, which enabled the identification of an area of great interest in urban work trips, which was defined for the application of iCam in two stretches of sidewalks included therein, incorporating the indicator of rainwater drainage capacity . Through the result of the walkability index, it was possible to verify that the stretches under analysis need to undergo priority interventions to promote improvements in the quality of the walk and, thus, be able to generate attractiveness for the mode of transport. The city does not have roads intended for bicycle mobility, therefore, intuitively it was found that there are no incentives for this mode of transport. The results brought practical and political implications, with subsidies for public management and the improvement of walkability in the municipality, as well as a social collaboration aimed at public policies to alleviate inequalities in urban mobility and support the understanding of the limitations of using active modes of transport. transport in relation to disability and/or lack of adequate infrastructure for daily commuting, in order to promote a better quality of life for the population.

  • Resumen Espectáculo
  • This study, of an interdisciplinary nature, approaches the possibility of contribution of handicraft with coffee straw for the construction of actions related to local sustainable development. The geographic delimitation of the research is the municipality of Conceição das Pedras, Minas Gerais, a city located within the Geographical Indication of Mantiqueira de Minas for the production of specialty coffees. In this context, the objective of this research is to map the possible ways of using coffee residues in the manufacture of local handicrafts based on the Actor-Network Theory combined with Design and Territory in the aforementioned Municipality. The methodology used is a qualitative approach, divided into two stages: the first consists of a bibliographical survey in books, databases of dissertations and theses from several universities and scientific articles published in scientific journals and a research in archived documents in municipal schools and in the City Hall. Municipal. The second stage comprises the application and analysis of interviews with a semi-structured script with residents, coffee growers of Conceição das Pedras. Two artisans, one from Poço Fundo and the other from Três Pontas, Minas Gerais, were also interviewed with the aim of raising the methodology used in making handicrafts with coffee straw in order to replicate them in Conceição das Pedras. The work could be carried out successfully, the methodology of crafting with coffee straw was replicated and aspects of the local cultural identity were incorporated into the prototype of the artifact. The Conceição das Pedras community participated in the prototype development process, bringing the community closer to the university and making it possible to describe the identity and symbolism of coffee through an interdisciplinary integration. The viability was proven through Baxter's product development tools (2013) and Krucken's Design tools (2009) for the enhancement of the territory. It is concluded that the work was of great relevance for reflections on sustainable development based on the singularities of each territory and on projects with the use of new materials and technologies. It is hoped that future research can refine the present study so that the prototype of the artifact can be improved and that it can serve as an incentive for projects to generate income and work in the community, following a circular perspective of production.

  • Resumen Espectáculo
  • It is in the field of Brazilian culture that the richness and development of maracatu de baque virado is revealed with its dances, songs, costumes, percussion orchestra, as well as the construction of an identity marked by social and political dynamics. Immersed in the percussion orchestra, this research emphasizes the drums and the figure of the drum builder with knowledge and technological practices that performs the manufacture and maintenance of the maracatu drums of baque virado. This drum reveals the multiplicity of human and non-human elements in sociotechnical controversies, which weave a complex network of mediators and intermediaries. The methodology of this research seeks to reveal the construction of drums, sounds, technological processes and income generation based on the Actor-Network theory, through open and semi-structured interviews, with the resource of Controversy Cartography and Oligopticon-Maps. The results of this research reveal the fragility of the cultural sector due to the health crisis of Covid-19, generating a series of affectations for the manufacture of the artifact, the increase in prices of materials, the stoppage of the cultural sector and the Aldir Blanc law injecting breath into the cultural sector. It describes the strategies used by the drum builder during the Covid-19 pandemic in the manufacture of the drum (my first instrument), the service at Toninho's joinery and, recently, the resumption of the cultural sector with maracatu workshops and production of drums for maracatuzeiros. From these results, the Oligopticon-Maps were elaborated allowing an immersion in the controversies of the networks revealed in the research. The conclusion of this research is the diversity of elements and technologies in the manufacture of the artifact and the ability to generate income with the artifacts.

  • Resumen Espectáculo
  • As an instrument of important transformation capacity, endowed with a dialectical and collective structure, Institutional Analysis (IA) has been employed in a vast field of institutions. In this study, the goal was to study the historical dynamics of the institutionalization process of inclusive public policies directed to the segment of people with disability - PWD from the theoretical framework of IA. A systematic literature review was carried out, including laws related to public policies, as well as academic bibliography, by means of theses, dissertations, books and scientific articles that approached the researched theme. We sought to study the instituting processes, the advances and setbacks of the historical process of formation of this policy. A sample of 440 academic bibliographies were also analyzed in the databases: New SciELO and Google Academic found in the period between the years 2000-2022 with the objective of understanding how IA is being applied in studies regarding PWD and Collective Health. It is observed that, although IA is growing in the theme of Collective Health, it has not been employed with the expected frequency in the study territory of the PWD. It is concluded that IA presents an expressive potential to contribute to the process of inclusive public policies, especially having the PWD as instituting expression and suggests further research using the methodology.

  • Resumen Espectáculo
  • Throughout history, people with disabilities (PCD) have been abandoned, marginalized, excluded and despised by society, facing various forms of restriction. This understanding has been progressively changing, as the struggle of minorities for equally fair conditions gains space in society. Based on this perspective and in the expectation of better understanding the reality of people with disabilities in the regional scenario, the question that underpins this research arises and unfolds into: “What are the possibilities and challenges for the implementation of the actions of the Municipal Councils for the Defense of Human Rights? Of People with Disabilities in Itajubá and microregion”? Thus, the general objective of the research is to analyze the actions of the Municipal Councils for the rights of people with disabilities in the micro-region of Itajubá. As for the methodology, it is a research with a qualitative approach, through field research, with data collected through narrative interviews, with semi-structured scripts, directed at council members in the micro-region of Itajubá. In order to contextualize the theme and provide a theoretical foundation for the analysis, this work permeates the legal and political frameworks of the social history of the individual with a disability, as well as an understanding of the reality of this segment in our region. Results point out the challenges of the Municipal Council for the Defense of the Rights of Persons with Disabilities in the city of Itajubá regarding actions and the slowness to implement municipal public policies aimed at PCD, since in no other surrounding city was such a body constituted. People with disabilities still face difficulties in accessing formal education, the job market, the defense of their rights, as well as the difficulty in their full social participation. Individuals with disabilities need to be removed from the invisibility and isolation that prevent them from expanding their capabilities and having access to social, cultural and political opportunities; and a minority of people with disabilities are aware of or benefit from the Council for the Right to Persons with Disabilities in their city to strengthen and value this segment and build a more egalitarian society.

  • Resumen Espectáculo
  • The concept of urban mobility is very broad topic when discussing urban development and the quality of life of the population, and one of the main challenges that cities have been facing is the improvement of these conditions. In addition to problems related to urban mobility, the transport sector´s one of the main consumers of energy produced in the world and is responsible for 40% of global emissions. Road transport makes the main contribution, accounting for 72% of the transport sector's total emissions n' private cars are responsible for 60% of this total. Thus, there is great relevance in seeking to reduce energy consumption through measures to increase Energy Efficiency (EE) for transport. This research aims to develop an Energy Efficiency Performance Assessment Model for Urban Mobility (EEMU). The evaluation model is based on the ASI methodology, from SeMob - National Secretariat for Transport and Urban Mobility (Brasil, 2018a), n' is anchored on three pillars of energy efficiency: systemic efficiency, travel efficiency and vehicle efficiency. The research methodology was divided into three stages: In stage 1, the development of the EEMU was carried out; in step 2, the application of the Performance Assessment Model of EEMU in the city of São Paulo was carried out, and in step 3, the analysis of results and sensitivity was carried out. The EEMU model is made up of a hierarchy of criteria that make up the three pillars of Energy Efficiency, 7 themes, 14 initiatives and 29 attributes. The multicriteria decision analysis method is used, through the Analytical Hierarchical Process (AHP), which allowed a structured study of the evaluation criteria. Data collection relied on the judgment of specialists to calculate the degree of importance of the criteria of the levels of the hierarchical structure (Pillars, Themes and Initiatives). With the final result, it can be seen that most specialists believe that in order to achieve energy efficiency for urban mobility, the pillar of “systemic efficiency” is more important than the other pillars. The final analysis of the attributes referring to the three pillars reaffirmed the theoretical framework on improving urban mobility conditions, which represents one of the greatest challenges for cities around the world. Finally, the application of the EEMU model for the city of São Paulo achieved an EE Index for Urban Mobility of 0.542. The research has both scientific and practical implications. It contributed to the elaboration of a multidisciplinary evaluation model and the development of an EE Index for Urban Mobility that can be used as an indicator of control over urban mobility actions. In practical terms, the research made it possible to point out the priority initiatives that should be on the agenda for improvement policies in the city of São Paulo.

  • Resumen Espectáculo
  • This study focuses on the dynamics between popular participation in politics within
institutional spaces, specifically in the performance of collective mandates and their
working methods in Municipal Chambers. The relationship between these groups and
the adoption of their own strategies to propose greater citizen participation in the
process of public policy debate and formulation in municipalities was evaluated
based on the participating mandates. The objective was to assess whether the
actions of Collective Mandates from different locations work to expand popular
participation through Municipal Chambers, examining whether there are specific
strategies and methods to enhance dialogue between the government and organized
civil society. The research justification lies in the need to advance studies on
collective mandates beyond the electoral period, not only mapping their composition
and the legal aspects of their performance but primarily analyzing their dynamics and
articulation after being elected. Through the “Collective Subject Discourse” method, it
was observed that Collective Mandates not only assess popular participation as a
central element for exercising citizenship but also seek to reclaim existing spaces for
participation. These groups also develop and propose other methods to enhance
dialogue between institutional politics and the population, beyond the tools already
provided for in the regulations of Municipal Chambers. This research stems from
discussions and debates conducted within the interdisciplinary Graduate Program in
Development, Technologies, and Societies - PPG-DtecS at the Federal University of
    Itajubá.

  • Resumen Espectáculo
  • The nursing activity in the Surgical Center has become increasingly governed by norms and routines, in an attempt to guarantee the best care for patients. The fact of working is linked to the possibility of man appropriating already established prescriptions, modifying them, managing variability, as well as transferring personal values and life experiences in his "use of self". The invisibility of work is inherent to nursing activity, during human action at work, in its permanent quest to appropriate the environment, manage malfunctions and the possibilities of maintaining one's own health, the quality of care, productivity and the safety of the process. Being and acting competently are established from these constant arbitrations between the use of oneself by oneself and the use of oneself by others, in a heterodetermination. The question that guided this study was: What are the renormalizations used by Surgical Centre nurses to manage antecedent norms in an attempt to ensure control of the variability and malfunctions that arise during the work process? The methodology used was Ergonomic Work Analysis (EWA) through observations (general and systematized) and interviews (semi-structured and self-confrontation) and ergology, with the intention of demonstrating the dynamism and unpredictability inherent in real working conditions. Using the qualitative-descriptive method of ergonomics and ergology, the main technical and organizational factors inherent in health work management were identified. The results observed were: (1) the uniqueness of 5 Surgical Center nurses, how they accessed the values, knowledge and skills originating in the dynamics of work and the productivity system, (2) the constant dispute between alienation and de-alienation in everyday life to ensure a living work, (3) the risks and difficulties experienced in providing care to fulfill the tasks assigned and (4) the gaps in standards and their skills for managing patient care based on the surgical agenda. In this way, it was possible to conclude that the methodological approach proved adequate to achieve the objectives of this study. By bringing out the activity, the work was made visible, the results of which revealed the individual and collective strategies established in care, in the daily procedures of care, as well as a better understanding of the complexity and demands that characterize nursing care in the Surgical Centre.

  • Resumen Espectáculo
  • This research aims to analyze the impact of Law No. 10.639, enacted in January 2003 – which introduced the mandatory inclusion of "Afro-Brazilian History and Culture" in the official school curriculum and created a way for the denaturalization of racism within the school space – and its implementation in relation to the subjectivity of black bodies. The significance of this research lies in the importance and urgency of topics that highlight ethnic-racial discussions and anti-racist education. The objectives of the study are to analyze the implementation of Law Nº 10.639/2003 from both theoretical and practical perspectives in a public school located in the south of Minas Gerais, examining its impact within this context, and discussing the contributions of anti-racist education as a foundation for rethinking social development. The guiding question for this research is: How is Law No. 10.639/2003 applied and its impact observed in a public school in the south of Minas Gerais? To address this question, a qualitative research approach utilizing the Participatory Research (PR) method was chosen, which involves engaged research. The data collection instrument employed was a set of semi-structured questionnaires distributed through the Google Forms platform. The recipients of the questionnaires included high school students from the 2022 academic year, high school graduates between 2018 and 2021, as well as teachers and administrative staff from the same school in 2022. The choice of the starting year, 2018, was influenced by the formation of the Fala Miga Collective at the school. The survey sample consists of 79 responses. The data obtained from the questionnaires were analyzed using the empirical method of Content Analysis, as proposed by Bardin (2011). The research aims to problematize the prevailing development model in society, which is based on hierarchical race relations driven by political and economic factors. Consequently, the study emphasizes the significance and urgency of antiracist education as a means to foster a more just and egalitarian society.

  • Resumen Espectáculo
  • Domestic violence is a problem analyzed, predominantly, from a female point of view.
However, the seriousness, complexity and interdisciplinarity that involve the theme require
much more effort to search for resources, from all scientific areas, to reduce the occurrence of
the phenomenon that sustains a culture built and structured upon a socioeconomic model based
on patriarchy, racism and inequality. As it is not a problem limited to the domestic and family
scope, but a society formed and built upon a culture of violence, the present study seeks to get
to know the context of domestic and family violence against women in the city of Itajubá, and
to understand what is necessary to create technology to combat that violence, based not only on
the female perspective, but also on the male point of view, from interviews carried out in the
city of Itajubá, with 10 (ten) male perpetrators of violence and 30 (thirty) female accusers, in
the year of 2022 and 2023, as well as the technologies and devices developed to combat
domestic violence which can be used to increase access to the network for tackling and
preventing domestic violence. The research is characterized as a qualitative and quantitative
study with an exploratory objective, being divided into 4 stages: (1) bibliographical research to
    establish the concepts used in the work regarding violence, domestic violence and technologies;
    (2) data collection with the Military Police, reporting channels to combat the problem through
a quantitative method and technologies available in selected studies with the CAPES database,
INPI and smartphone app stores; (3) application of a questionnaire to the reflective group of
male perpetrators of violence, in the context of Itajubá, based on a study developed by Beiras
et al. (2021), in order to verify compliance with the listed guidelines and recommendations and
    (4) conduction of a semi-structured interview, with open-ended questions based on the work of
bell hooks (2020) who investigated and evaluated the perception of 10 (ten) male perpetrators
of violence about their reality and the context of violence and with 30 (thirty) female
victims/accusers, who described their perception about the phenomenon and about the
technologies they know to prevent and combat domestic violence. As for the logical reasoning
adopted throughout the work, the dialectical method was used, resulting from the process of
debate, discussion and argumentation of the problem, with an interdisciplinary approach, in
order to determine the social context on the relations of power between men and women, where
consequences related to the practice of violence against women allowed new technological
possibilities, with active partners in the area, which can expand access to information and to
    existing public policies.

  • Resumen Espectáculo
  • In the present dissertation we propose a reflection about the relation between development and technologies, circumscribed to the concepts of development (local, social and sustainable), in the field of knowledge of studies in Science, Technology and Society (STS). The research was carried out with the Association of Residents and Artisans of the Quilombo Neighborhood (or rather, Arte no Quilombo), located in the municipality of São Bento do Sapucaí, in the state of São Paulo. The interdisciplinary proposition intrinsic to the STS approach and Actor-Network Theory (ANT) strengthens the theoretical-methodological path for a flexible empirical approach that allows exploring other disciplines in correlation with the theme (administration, anthropology, sociology, history, philosophy, technologies), from the handicraft. This strategy made it possible to map the socio-technical networks of affectation based on data obtained from interviews, observations and field experiences. From this perspective, the aim is to reveal the popular artisan experience represented by Arte no Quilombo association, considering the conceptions of organizational practices and processes, specifically with regard to behaviors, techniques, technologies and the production of artifacts. The results point to the possibility of social changes in the dynamics of work, this related to the dimensions of ethics, solidarity, cooperativism, sustainability, collective and participation in their coexistence with technical objects, in perspectives of the human, non-human, material and immaterial translated into the experiences of Arte no Quilombo association.

  • Understanding the Right to the City in a location in the south of Minas Gerais and
highlighting the structural barriers faced by black women in the context of the urban
territory, inserting an intersectional analysis in the dialogues about gender and race is
the path traced by this research. Three women, three generations, who with their
trajectories tell about the changes and permanence of the conditions of a black and
peripheral territory. All of them, for one reason or another, live in the São João
neighborhood. The theoretical basis was based on Intersectional Theory, and on black
intellectuals, in particular. Racism and machismo are connected and solidify the
exploitation of black women since the colonial period, therefore, the objective was also,
specifically, to apprehend the meaning of the São João neighborhood for these research
subjects; identify, through their trajectories, how the Right to the City is implemented in
the neighborhood, based on the following categories: security, education, health, public
transport, and direct housing, among others, based on their experiences as black women
who live there; as well as understanding the relationship of these residents with the city
of Pouso Alegre. The research was characterized as qualitative exploratory. As a
methodological form, semi-structured interviews were carried out, which were
transcribed in full and, afterwards, were analyzed using the Oral History method. It was
also intended to bring reflections on Local Development, Territory and Black Identity.

  • Resumen Espectáculo
  • This work is about development, knowledge and popular culture that involve the
transformations of sheep wool worked in Serra da Mantiqueira. Based on the Actor-Network
Theory (ANT), a research was carried out on the transformations in the uses and meanings of
fiber from the 1980s onwards. To address these transformations, it was necessary to follow
three objectives, the first being an oligoptic vision of sheep wool production in the Serra da
Mantiqueira region, to trace its history in the region. The second consisted of identifying the
human and non-human actors in the Mantiqueira networks and the third and last one, analyzing
the sociotechnical network of sheep wool produced in Serra da Mantiqueira. The research used
two networks that work with sheep's wool as an element that represents the cultural identity of
their regions: Ave Lã and Mãostiqueiras. In a comparison between the two and briefly telling
the history of sheep's wool in the Serra da Mantiqueira region; that more than a geographic
connection, there is a cultural connection that permeates the economy of culture between the
cities that cross the Sul de Minas and the State of São Paulo. As a methodological process, field
research was carried out, interviews with artisans, artisans and sheep breeders and analysis of
photographs and images sent by the artisans. The results consist of the cultural importance of
sheep's wool for the Serra da Mantiqueira region, both on the cultural side and on the income
generation side, both of which face the lack of public policies aimed at valuing local raw
material, strengthening local economic development. In addition, still in the field of results, but
focused on transformations, the most evident was related to the meaning of a local custom of
working with sheep's wool for a "tradition" of the region, with a change of stages of the process
in rituals and the second is related to the artifacts themselves, before they were covered, today
they are smaller pieces, such as hats, scarves, gloves and decoration pieces.

  • Resumen Espectáculo
  • This study aimed to identify organizational and psychosocial risk factors in the relationship between mental health and work among active employees of a Public Educational Institution. This is an epidemiological research with a quantitative-qualitative cross-sectional approach to the prevalence of absenteeism due to Mental and Behavioral Disorders, CMD, in the years 2018 and 2019. Data regarding Medical Leaves were made available by the Integrated Health Care Subsystem of the Federal Servant – Responsible SIASS, acting in the Institution's Rectory. To identify organizational and psychosocial risk factors in the work environment, the Health Safety Executive – Indicator Tool (HSE-IT), validated and translated into Portuguese, and a sociodemographic questionnaire were used, both applied through an electronic form. From the result of a question of the sociodemographic questionnaire, the collective subject discourse was created. The sample consisted of 194 servers. Among the leaves for health treatment by (TMC) there was a predominance of females and the category of technical-administrative, however the leave periods were longer for males and in the teaching category. The results showed that the process of change in the scope of work arising from neoliberalism affects Public Education Institutions and affects the relationship between mental health and work of civil servants, due to the forms of organization and management, the scenarios of instability and insecurity regarding remuneration. , stability, retirement and the institution's maintenance budget. The aspects that most produce satisfaction are those related to the social dimensions of work, such as satisfaction through carrying out the activity, social recognition and interpersonal relationships built in the work environment. According to the employees' perception, the main psychosocial factors that predict occupational stress are those related to the dimensions “Demand”, “Support from management” and “Changes”.

  • With the excessive use of natural resources, these will become scarce. As a consequence, the profession of collectors of recyclable materials appears in Brazil as a job opportunity for disadvantaged citizens. The activity of collecting recyclable materials is defined in the act of collecting from solid waste what can be used to recycle and/or reuse. As it is a totally manual activity, the handling of these residues exposes workers to chemical, physical, biological, social, ergonomic risks and accidents. The objective is to identify the risks to health and safety present in the exercise of the profession of recyclable material collectors in the ACIMAR and ACARI associations of Itajubá (MG), as well as to suggest practices that can reduce the level of vulnerability of such workers to diseases and accidents. Questionnaires and interviews were the fundamental tools for data collection. Semi-structured interviews (semi-open or closed) allow the interviewee to discuss the subject addressed, since some of these collectors may have difficulty responding in writing - including due to possible reading difficulties. The results show that the collectors carry out their activities informally, exploited, humiliated, in a precarious way and with high risks, mainly biological and chemical, arising mostly from the poor availability of waste by the population. Resisting every day in a capitalist society that does not recognize them or contribute to having more dignity, it is necessary to create bills that propose improvements in the quality of work, life and health of collectors, projects that enable social, labor rights , better living conditions, in addition to reducing health risks.

  • Housing of social interest (HIS) in Brazil are inserted in many social problems that are complex and it is necessary to analyze each one individually, among them is the location, the indicators related to the surroundings of the houses have a direct impact on the quality of life of the residents. residents. Housing conditions seem to be far from the real needs of beneficiary families (especially the Minha Casa Minha Vida Program). Some studies have been carried out regarding the analysis of HIS with a focus on aesthetics, architecture and some others deal only with the environmental analysis from the construction of the houses, few in-depth studies were found on the social efficiency of the houses. Therefore, this dissertation aims to analyze the built environment around the housing in terms of social sustainability, verifying if it meets the needs of the residents in order to enable improvements in the development of public policies, to serve as an aid to the decision-making process. in the specific context of the city of Pouso Alegre- Minas Gerais. From this, an exploratory case study research was carried out, establishing four categories of analysis: transport infrastructure, public facilities, urban insertion and environmental aspects, using the multicriteria method: Multicriteria Hierarchical Analysis (AHP), specific criteria were evaluated through the literature, documental data, primary and secondary and a final index was generated that represents the performance of the HIS. After analyzing the performance of criteria, indicators and variables, it was possible to conclude that the category of environmental aspects had the best performance, followed by public facilities, transport infrastructure and urban insertion, respectively. The results showed that the final index of value 63.0 reveals urban weaknesses that need attention and specific interventions in order to improve the conditions of access to the city's equipment for residents. It is hoped that the research can contribute to the discussion of projects and improvements in the surroundings of the houses, since these are already installed and need interventions that must be made analyzing the current context of the residents. In this way, the research aims to contribute so that the decision-making process is carried out in a coherent way that seeks to establish adequate housing, and that these are satisfactory for the beneficiary families.

  • Resumen Espectáculo
  • In the field of mental health and psychosocial care, the worker provides assistance to a
subject in psychological distress, because here the disease is placed in parentheses to deal with the subject in his experience of suffering or discomfort. This strategy is a break with the theoretical-conceptual model of psychiatry that adopted the reference of the natural sciences to understand subjectivity and started to objectify and objectify the subject and human experience when dealing with diseases. The Psychosocial Care Centers (CAPS), in which professionals from different categories work in the care of patients with mental suffering, have a unique practice that is characterized by a flexible organization in the reception of people in crisis, by listening to all those involved and for the formation of affective and professional bonds with these people. In this context, this study aims to investigate the (im)possibilities of health and safety management in the face of the established work organization, in the assistance activity for the patient in psychic suffering, of the workers working in the Psychosocial Care Center. (CAPS II) in the interior of Minas Gerais. The methodological approach and the theoretical approach used in this study were based on Ergonomic Work Analysis (AET), through observations (general and systematized) and interviews (open, semi-structured and self-confrontation) and on Ergological, respectively, with the participation of 11 health professionals, both permanent and contracted. The results revealed that structural changes had an impact on care, as there is a distance between the organization of the mental health care network advocated by the Psychiatric Reform and the actual organization. In addition, the clashes and debates established between Mental Health x Psychiatry, which appear at the macro level, cross practices and trigger drama in work activities, evidencing, in the meantime, the (im)possibilities of the clinic itself, that is, the impossible of the real (psychoanalytic) present in psychic suffering that is only possible through the engagement of the word. It is noteworthy that in the context of the study, problems related to health and safety have shown that there is a distance between the task and the work activity, which is also amplified by the managerial or technobureaucratic management model based on
prescriptions, which, being insufficient, show the (im)possibilities of the void of norms. What happens is that: how you work remains invisibility and the division of work in the way it is carried out is also the division of risks, responsibilities for accidents, diseases, malfunctions. The possibilities, in this sense, are in the changes in the management method: which can cover the precarious working conditions pointed out by professionals and the organization, whose consequences are visible through the high turnover of professionals in the service, which generates the fragment of the collective and prevents dealing with the risk of violence satisfactorily. Because, if this field of possibilities is expanded, the worker, with his knowledge and values, will have better conditions to recreate his environment and renormalize to manage the activity and the present risks, guaranteeing a healthy and safe environment and improvements in the care of the suffering patient psychic.

  • This research shows that the effects of tourism in National Parks have positive and negative points, therefore, it aims to compare the management of solid waste generated by tourism between Brazil and Canada and, as specific objectives: a) Identify Public Policies Solid Waste in Protected Areas of each country studied; b) Identify in the studied Parks the factors that influence the generation of Solid Waste from tourism and c) Raise the potential and threats in the management of Solid Waste generated by tourism in National Parks with a focus on two Brazilian parks and two Canadian parks. Using SWOT, the waste management of the four National Parks was compared, based on documental research and a defined semi-structured interview. Qualitatively, the differences by location, structure and resources originated from exploratory and descriptive research. To create special standards, we work with the proportionalities between Parks and the influencing factors of waste generation. The results also revealed that despite the difference in laws between Brazil and Canada, there are problems in both countries, as well as solutions in both that can be structured and implemented between National Parks to improve solid waste management.

  • The Collective de mulheres Raízes da Terra is a self-organization of the Landless Rural
Workers Movement (MST) belonging to the area of settlements and popular camps called
Quilombo Campo Grande, located in Campo do Meio-MG. The Collective emerged to
contribute to the autonomy and income generation of MST women in 2011 and, since then,
has been organized among several activities, one of them being the cultivation of medicinal
herbs and the production of herbal medicines through the collective garden. In this context, the present research aimed to analyze the practices and dynamics built by the Raízes da Terra women's collective in relation to expressions of care, through participant observation
techniques. Due to a series of historical and social conditioning factors, women have taken on the role of those responsible for the sustainability of life. This responsibility is analyzed in different ways within the feminist literature. Based on social reproduction, an analysis was carried out on the meanings of care developed by women. The conclusion was reached that the women of the Roots of the Land movement develop other sociabilities, different from the hegemonic ones, due to their membership in the Social Movement and in the context of collective agroecological work. Among the women researched, care is extended to the community, to nature and to themselves. In this sense, we hope to contribute to the
understanding of the work of "sustaining life" in the context of peasant and landless women, in addition to identifying elements of this relationship that contribute to the better development of society, guided by life.

  • This interdisciplinary research aims to analyze the relationship of women crocheters from Inconfidentes - MG with local development and crochet, through material and immaterial elements present in this craft practice. The craftwork in contemporary times is marked by various social relations, being an object endowed with social, cultural and economic value. Faced with hegemonic development, handcrafts have undergone several transformations in order to meet the national and global consumer market. In this scenario, the crochet handicraft in Inconfidentes has been transformed from an activity developed to meet domestic demands to a source of income. It also started to be produced and commercialized on a large scale, being a great driver of local economic, cultural and tourist development. Inconfidentes has been recognized as the "National Crochet Capital". The qualitative approach was used as methodology, and its research instruments were: the field diary, the life history method, semi-structured interviews and presentation through monads. The participants of the research are women crocheters from the group MOÇA (Organized Women Crocheting Autonomy) from the city of Inconfidentes. We believe that it is necessary to know in order to recognize and thus make visible and transform. About the results, the research identified the contradiction in which the crochet handicraft is exposed. On the one hand, social and cultural subsistence of crocheters and their families, on the other hand, it represents the invisibility and devaluation of labor, inequality and class and gender division. Crochet, is handmade in the home, predominantly produced by women and, like domestic and care work, is marked by relations of invisibility and devaluation. This research points to the need for alternatives to local development, which acts in the valorization of handicrafts in a feminist and life sustainability perspective.

  • Global processes shake the local identities, habits and customs of Terra CaipiraPaulista, since its culture is portrayed as outdated in the face of the development established by society. With the influence of external references, it is necessary to reflect on how to revalue the identity of rustic culture in contemporary times. Thus, the interdisciplinarity of Design and Territory will dialogue with tradition and innovation to value the identities and a local product of the Vale do ParaíbaPaulista, which already has an artisanal, cultural and tourist vocation. In order to do so, a traditional artifact was identified through a bibliographic review that has an ancestry in the region, from its use by the first indigenous inhabitants, Portuguese tropeiros, bandeirantes, enslaved Africans to the arrival at the home of the caipira families, the artifact from the gourd fruit. However, its production and use as a utilitarian object of food and beverages are disconnected from its origin, due to competition with industrialized items. Therefore, the artifact was revalued and its production rethought and resignified, through rapid ethnographic research with producer and rustic artisans, in addition to experimental research for the creation of the new concept and 3D modeling of the identity artifact. The conceptual project was created for the future application in the fruit, which can have its development controlled and molded with the techniques of additive manufacturing and thermo molding, in order to improve and minimally intervene in its format, guaranteeing the quality of the product, the in artisanal work and adaptation to contemporary design demands in line with tradition and popular imagination. As a result of the research, the project and the popularization of science were created with the traveling exhibition, a moment in which the community immersed itself in the caipira universe and in the use of the gourd artifact. The study leaves as a legacy the beginning of the revaluation of the material and immaterial caipira culture, the multicultural identity of the gourd and the strengthening of the network. In addition to encouraging family farming, artisanal, cultural and tourist production, through developed social technology.

  • It is known that the space-time of the contemporary city is fast, requires dynamism in the tight pace of many tasks and, often, experiencing the city and its public spaces are in the background. Starting from this disturbing prerogative, for this research, it is the study of the affective relationship of city dwellers with the public space – a place of experiences and events – from urban artistic interventions. To do so, a closer look will be drawn from the flâneur's exquisite lenses, directing us to the enjoyment and appreciation of the public space. The proposition of the epistemological abstraction of the skin of the city and body-city with the contribution of authors, in addition to supporting the understanding of the phenomenon of urban communication, through an anthropological vision, anchored in the concept of a polyphonic city, deduces that art crystallizes and it can transform, in certain contexts and with certain frequency, social relations and urban experiences, mobilizing drifts for models of citizen awareness for affects in sociability and urban vivacity. The methodology is based on walking ethnography, field research, participant observation, semi-structured interviews and qualitative analysis. Epistemologically, the research is supported by Jan Gehl, Massimo Canevacci, Yi-Fu Tuan, Jean-Paul Thibaud, Baudelaire, Benjamin and other authors. The research concerns an interdisciplinary path with an approach in discussions about the right to the city, culture, development and society.

  • The Quilombola community of Indaiá, located in the municipality of Antônio Dias, in Alto Rio Doce, has had its territorial rights violated by the advance of eucalyptus monoculture. Thus, the general objective of this research is to analyze the relationship between access to land and agricultural production in the community of Indaiá. For that, we used Rapid Participatory Diagnosis (DRP) techniques and application of semi-structured interview scripts. Thus, we seek to identify the relationship between socio-productive changes over time and the occupation of the territory. From this, we were able to observe the relationship between the advance of eucalyptus as a propeller of the migratory process and, consequently, the advance on quilombola lands.

  • The present study discusses the topic of digital accessibility on the web aimed at people with disabilities (PCD), and aimed to investigate the possibilities of accessibility of the website www.uai-online.com with a view to the criteria of recommendations for digital accessibility on the web presented by the WCAG booklet. The digital platform is a space created in order to present and share information, activities and materials about the context of inclusion in the research produced by the group "Technologies, Education and Diversity", composed of students from the postgraduate programs in Development, Technologies and Society (DTecS) and Science Education at the Federal University of Itajubá (UNIFEI). According to the last Census conducted by IBGE in 2010, the Brazilian population had about 24% of people who declared that they declared themselves to have some kind of disability and recent studies by BIGDATACORP showed that in 2019 less than 1% of government websites and not - governmental organizations had accessibility criteria on the web. With this, the relevance of the present study is verified, as it will contribute to increase academic productions that deal with issues related to digital accessibility on the web for the PCD. To achieve the objectives set and answer the questions of this work, a qualitative research methodology that collaborated with the investigations on the theme of the study was used. The data collection procedures used included: a questionnaire with students from the Information Technology (IT) area in order to understand the process of training the IT professional; a automated structural assessment seeking to analyze the technical evolution that occurred on the website; and, a complementary evaluation of the use of the digital platform, carried out by means of a video call and a questionnaire answered by the PCDs, in order to expose a panorama closer to the real
regarding the use of the website. The results point out that the possible lack of content on the topic of research in higher education institutions may impact the creation of accessible
software, the application of recommendations for digital accessibility criteria in the WCAG
booklet made the site present technical improvements and the evaluation of PCDs can show
that accessible online platforms help to minimize the barrier of access to information available on the internet.

  • It's believed Small Hydroelectric Plants (SHP) cause insignificant socio-environmental
impacts when compared to large hydroelectric plants. However, it can consider that
this fact is false. The installation and operation of these projects can generate conflicts
with the population resident in the area. In this context, it's inserted the Social License
to Operate (SLO). The SLO is the acceptability of a community towards the operation
of a project. This license was born in the mining field, and it's given to a project when
it has society's broad and continuous approval to conduct its activities. To get more
visibility and to search for fairness in socio-environmental management, this work
assumes as general objective: to understand how the relationships between the parties
involved (enterprise/entrepreneur, affected community, and other relevant
stakeholders) are laying down in the acquisition of SLO in a project of the SHP type.
To achieve the proposed objective, we adopted a case study combined with a
qualitative and quantitative approach and descriptive and exploratory analysis as a
research design. Two kinds of data were collected: through documents available by
the entrepreneur and semi-structured interviews applied to stakeholders for the case
study. The methodology applied to each of these sets of collected information: for the
first, we conduct a critical description out in the light of the literature and, for the second,
an adapted content analysis complemented by text mining. There was some
conformity of the enterprise's LSO with those present in the literature and noted that
SLO is not an abstract concept and becomes a company's strategy aspect.
Stakeholders reported that they don't know what LSO is and expect more benefits to
the affected region. We observed that the main benefits characteristic of the SLO
occurred in the phases preceding the operation of the enterprise. With the completion
of the works, the relationship between the parties weakened. As the SLO foresees
continuity, participatory systems, collective work, environmental protection, and social
guarantee, there is a need to fulfill commitments and meet the expectations presented
to promote honest paths to regional development and obtain a higher license level. We
expect that this work can bring contributions to the discussion and implementation of
    new SLOs.

  • This research is contained in a set of university extension projects that were carried out and articulated by Núcleo de Pesquisa, Extensão e apoio à Agricultura Familiar e Desenvolvimento Rural – Núcleo Travessia and their partnerships that, with women rural from the rural neighborhood Peroba of the municipality of Itajubá-MG, favored an interdisciplinary discussion about the University Extension's commitment to improving the living conditions of rural women in the context of family farming. Considering the condition of women from the rural neighborhood Peroba of depreciation and invisibility in the activities they carry out in the domestic and public space, the problem of the labor that resides in the family composition and that is intensified in the local reality in which the neighborhood suffers from lack of essentials public services, we seek to study if the actuation of university extension promoted if the actuation of university extension promoted improved in their conditions life of the women rural form the rural neighborhood Peroba that participated of two extension projects realized in the years 2018 e 2019 in specific edicts of Instituto Federal de Educação, Ciência e Tecnologia do Sul de Minas Gerais - IFSULDEMINAS. The methodology was carried out by a qualitative investigation of interpretative nature that a cyclic and transversal way per passed by several interdisciplinary areas and used the technique of participatory research, observation, conversation, and semi-structured interviews. In the final reach of this research, we found that university extension actions did not obtain expressive changes in the domestic space because the heavy of the household chores remained under women shoulders and with their participation in the meetings during the years 2018 to 2019 the routine intensified. Other side we found that although relationships prevailed at the axiom of the sexual division of labor, the extension projects encouraged women to transform thinking and knowledge in respect of the condition of devaluation and subjection they were within the family composition. In public space, we identified that have been occurred changes in the reality of women from the rural neighborhood Peroba because the socialization spaces that were provided became a guiding tool for self-reflection and for the development of individual and collective independence. We conclude that the identified changes in the domestic and public spaces and the implications of the extension’s projects with the women's group "Mãos que cultivam carinho" contributed to the development of women's autonomy, which constituted a directive and viable action for the process, individual and collective, of improvement living conditions of women in the rural neighborhood of Peroba. Finally, considering the impacts of the whole order generated in society coming by covid-19, we recommend that future research seek to advance in the discussion of under which circumstances the university extension is present or not due the countless difficulties that woman face in the field of family farming.

  • Resumen Espectáculo
  • Science fiction has been one of the most popular genres in literature since its emergence in the 19th century. The genre sought to look at the future, imagining new technological advances, that then seemed unlimited, which brought it closer to the literature of utopia and dystopia. After the end of World War II and the explosion of the atomic bomb, optimism in a world guided by science diminishes considerably and dystopias considered the very end of civilization through the apocalyptic and post-apocalyptic subgenres. The nuclear cataclysm remained popular in fictional works throughout the century, but in 1970s, a new threat proved to be just as dangerous for human civilization: the environmental crises. The prognosis of a collapse created a dystopian imagery as powerful as that of a nuclear war. It was also a threat to the capitalist mode of production since external limits to economic growth are established. If the atomic bomb showed the destructive potential of war technology, environmental crises call into question the same technological artifacts that allowed the optimism in the 19th century. This dissertation asks how works of dystopian fiction characterize environmental crises over the last century. Therefore, climatic dystopias are the object of study, defined as: fictional works located in the near or distant future that describe a worse society, according to the author, than that of the moment and place in which it was written and that deal with ecological or environmental issues such as the focus, or one of the focuses, of the dysfunctionality of their world. Its objective is to investigate the different critical perceptions regarding technology in climatic dystopias. To do so, it proposes to examine the history of the belief in anthropogenic climate change, to compare the dystopian character of science fiction works throughout the 20th century and to identify in these specific criticisms the technology, taking into account its historical and artistic context. In the results, it is observed that: the opposition between civilization and nature is a recurring theme in the works studied, when reflecting on alternative modes of existence outside modern industrial society; The works proved to be useful for the study of the history of environmental crises, by revealing characteristics of key moments of awareness regarding these; And, finally, there is no linearity in their criticism of technological progress, but they all manifest positions contrary to the capitalist way of life.

  • Resumen Espectáculo
  • The use of soil-cement bricks in engineering works is considered an inexpensive and sustainable method compared to that used in conventional ways (ceramic or concrete blocks), considering that one of the raw materials used in this technique has wide availability, the manufacturing process is less harmful to the environment, in addition to its ease in the construction process. Combined with responsibility for resource management, time and environmental awareness, in Itajubá, south of Minas Gerais, there is a concern about the management of solid waste, especially glass waste, which exists in quantity in the region. In view of this, this research aims to evaluate the soil-cement bricks with the addition of glass residues, which were analyzed as to the feasibility of being incorporated into the composition of the soil-cement mixture, in order to use such residue productively, in order to be used as a new material. The granulometry tests, the Atterberg limits, density and specific mass were carried out with the soil used in the manufacture of the bricks, with the purpose of characterizing it and verifying its use in the soil-cement composition. In addition, the bricks made were subjected to tests of resistance to compression and water absorption, in which the bricks themselves were used as specimens, based on the recommendations of the ABNT NBR 8492 (2012) standard. The contributions of this research demonstrate that the insertion of glass waste in soil-cement bricks is beneficial, making technology productive and the need for viable solutions to minimize impacts on urban and rural areas, a way of optimizing the use of local resources in the implementation of future constructions using this technique.

  • Resumen Espectáculo
  • This interdisciplinary study addresses the theme of the organization of the recycling production chain from the perspective of the activities of the waste pickers organized in an association and how the relationships with other actors involved influence the current working conditions of the group. In this context, the objective of the present study is to analyze the recycling production chain from a sociotechnical approach and seek to identify proposals for improvements in its organizational process. Therefore, this qualitative study was carried out through participant research, the data being analyzed through an adaptation of the content analysis technique, in which categories were created to carry out thematic analysis of the data. As a result, it can be inferred that the precarious conditions in the association's work involve elements of productive / financial instability, carrying out work susceptible to risks with fragile protection, absence of social security and financial limitation on the part of the public entity. The elements that can improve the work and life conditions of waste pickers are related to the reorganization of waste management, adaptation of infrastructure and production equipment, community awareness processes, in addition to contracting the association to provide services. It is concluded that the challenging working conditions are intrinsically linked to the performance of the other agents of the production chain and extend throughout the work circuit of the enterprise, in which the possible alternatives to overcome these obstacles demand the improvement of the organization of the association, as well as the accountability and involvement of the actors through the implementation of public policies that aim at the socio-productive inclusion of the category.

  • The present research has as its locus the Bairro São Bernardo, located in the Rural Zone
of the municipality of Delfim Moreira and where the performance of the residents was
analyzed, who autonomously implemented a participatory management system for the
collection and proper disposal. The applied methodology was carried out through a
literature review, visitation to the neighborhood, research using semi-structured
questionnaires and analyzes using the Word Cloud and Word Similitude Analysis tools
of the IRAMUTEQ software. The results indicate that there is a perception of the
environmental problem, on the part of the population. Although there is no clear technical
knowledge involving the theme studied, the emphasis of the relationship between
residents and the environment on the figurative and symbolic levels is evident, which in
a great way favors the creation of spaces of autonomy that allow them to act as
protagonists in their environment. The importance of the activities, now carried out, is
recognized, even though the data shows that this is a slow process, since the knowledge
about preservation and conservation of the environment, can be expanded in the
    community and its surroundings.

  • Although segregation and accessibility studies has advanced in recent years and academia and public planners have demonstrated considerable interest, even so these themes are treated as isolated form and for the most part in big cities and metropolises. The location of Social Interest Housing (HIS) is a big social problem in Brazil since they are allocated in places without urban infrastructure and it is remoted from public services and equipment. In front of this context, this work aims to analyze the relationship between socio-spatial segregation and accessibility in the municipality of Itajubá/MG it is going to emphasize Social Interest Housing. To perform this search, it was done a case study based on geospatial analysis in a Geographic Information System (GIS) and statistical techniques. Firstly, it was examined socio-spatial segregation and accessibility, where the result is the average of equal values obtained for each of the variables considered. The Moran Global and Local Indexes were used to test the spatial autocorrelation of two analyses, finally the Pearson Correlation Coefficient was applied to analyze the correlation between them. The results showed us that lower segregation values originate from some census areas in Centro and Pinheirinho districts, followed by other sectors around central area. Peripheral areas have higher segregation value, where there are exactly two social residentials units analyzed are found. With respect to accessibility, there is an opposite situation due to central region has higher values for the detriment of peripheral regions. The Vitória residential is situated in sector with higher socio-spatial segregation value and lower accessibility value, conversely the Esperança Residential is in second class with higher segregation values and in second class with lower accessibility values. It was pointed out that results of two analyzes have considerable spatial autocorrelation, in other words, there is a meaningful tendency for low or high segregation sectors to being contiguous to other with the same characteristic, and low or high accessibility sectors to being neighbors to others with the same results. Furthermore, they have a significant negative correlation with each other in 73% of the sectors, in other words, higher value of socio-spatial segregation in a sector, lower is going to be accessibility value for that sector, and vice-versa. The research presents practical, scientific and social implications and it was contributed to studies of socio-spatial segregation and accessibility based on multiple criteria in medium-sized cities.

  • The sociodemographic transition, with consequent population aging, is now a global reality. This scenario, concomitant with the growing urbanization of cities, makes the State have to adopt measures and strategies, capable to stimulate the autonomy and life quality of the aging population. However, few studies have analyzed the mode how the cities are planned in view of the growing number of elderly people. Thus, the main objective of this study was to verify, through a systematic review of the literature, how urban planning in cities takes place in the face of population aging, and if the cities are prepared for the aging of their inhabitants, allowing and encouraging aging in place. The review was guided by the recommendations outlined in the Cochrane Center for Evaluation Dissemination and Collaboration guidelines. The keywords followed the description of the main terms in English for: “Aging in place”, and “Walkability”, where 57 studies were selected. The necessary results are the need for an environment that encourages social relationships in old age, maintains autonomy, and develops a sense of belonging, in addition to demonstrating that in general, cities are not prepared to old age. Furthermore, issues that encourage leisure-time physical activity, whether environmental or social, are determinant for better physical and mental health conditions, favoring the life quality. In general, research reveals that urban planning, when guided in order to promote aging in the place, can act as an instrument to maintain autonomy, quality of life, favoring better social and health conditions.

  • Abstract
The change caused by humans’ activities in environmental areas is one of the main threats to the biodiversity. The environmental questions in the XXI Century demand that Government and society mobilize their methods and actions aim to guarantee the perennially of live, to emphasize this point in scientific speeches and in implementation plans through public policies, one of them is the creation and implementation of Conservation Units (UC, in Portuguese) that are considered, for many researchers, the most efficient strategy to guarantee environmental areas. It was aimed, in this essay, to contribute to the identification of the position of the Federal Institutions of College Degree (IES, in Portuguese) in the management’s fortification of the Conservations Units. For being very important to the contemporary world, the IES besides graduating professionals to the market, also participate directly in the public policies’ planning and the building up of researchers and citizens that can absorb the necessities of preservation and understand the importance of this concept. The Federal, from the State of Minas Gerais and some of its cities: Inconfidentes, Itajubá, Poços de Caldas and Pouso Alegre Normative’s were analyzed, that discuss about Conservation Units. Researches and Extensions from IES: Federal Institute of Southern of Minas Gerais – Inconfidentes Campus, Federal University of Itajubá – Itajubá Campus (UNIFEI), Federal University of Alfenas – Poços de Caldas Campus and Federal Institute of Education, Science and Technology of Southern Minas – Pouso Alegre Campus, that involve Conservations Units and where pointed the Federal, State and Municipalities of Minas Gerais State’s Conversations Units studied at least. It was used questionaries that were sent to the studied Conversations Unit’s managers, for IES with the goal of analyze its contribution to the strengthening of creation and management of Conservations Units. It can be observed that there is a lack of communication between IES and UCs, that can be mitigated with the creation of seminars, scientific meetings, informative talks, the publication of research material in other medias that are not among the scientific journals, but this advance depends on the change of attitude as many researchers as managers.

  • The Man has always used natural resources for his survival and comfort, transforming nature according to the main and secondary needs. This use has had consequences for the environment that in protest has led to movements where professionals from various areas concerned by nature seek ways to resolve these uses and abuse. Given this scenario, this work has the general objective of comparing the national policies on the management of Conservation Units (CUs) regarding management plans in Brazil and Paraguay, using as case studies the Itatiaia/ Brazil National Park and the Defensores del Chaco/Paraguay National Park. This research is exploratory and descriptive with a qualitative approach in the form of a case study. To achieve the objective, data were collected through bibliographic and documentary analyses, where the main laws aimed at protected areas were analyzed. As a preliminary result, the laws involved in the management of these areas were verified, as well as their similarities and differences, among the similarities, the importance of social participation in the management plans and among the differences is listed in the years of creation for each Law. Thus, the participation of society in the preparation of the Plans is a positive point for protected areas to be a means of conservation and relationship with society, and the reduced financial availability for the maintenance of these areas stands out as a negative point.

  • Resumen Espectáculo
  • The present work aims to understand how a development model anchored in a democracy of restricted freedom can contribute to the formation and, mainly, to the visibility of an authoritarian subject in contemporary Brazil. For Therefore, we will make use of the philosophical method in the perspective of dialectical historical materialism in order to analyze the relationships that present themselves in the theme in question, seeking to reflect on the proposed problems considering their link with the structure of capitalism. We will seek to analyze the relationships established between development, authoritarianism and democracy, mapping examples between the years 2013 and 2019, in order to understand how these categories relate within the scope of Brazilian society. We consider that the hegemonic development model centered on the unrestricted accumulation of capital and technological expansion are closely linked to practices that corroborate the resurgence of authoritarian actions in peripheral and semi-peripheral countries in Latin America, with Brazil being the focus of this work. A model of democracy of a restricted character acts as a mechanism for maintaining and strengthening authoritarianism, as well as for maintaining the privileges of a political and economic minority. This group uses democratic discourse for the maintenance and resurgence of a development model that accentuates the inequalities in Brazil, with measures that undermine the substantive rights and freedoms of the vast majority of the population, under the veil of preserving democracy. Allied to this, Brazil has historical particularities such as bossiness, patriarchy, gender intolerance and structural racism that are conditioning the Brazilian ways of acting and thinking. Authoritarianism and the restricted model of democracy discussed here are not opposite poles, but complementary and that are in line with the neoliberal capitalist development model.

  • This work is part of the development theme, specifically in the interfaces with culture, with an emphasis on social and local issues. This is a study on the know-how of women embroiderers located in the city of Pedralva-MG, in the south of the state of Minas Gerais, with the aim of understanding how the know-how of embroidery permeates the lives of participating women of the group. The proposal is justified by the scarcity of research on the subject in Brazil and southern Minas. On the other hand, it is understood that knowledge and practices are powerful to overcome the traditional and modern binarity, material and immaterial, rational and manual, individual and collective, considering culture as a field of dispute, as well as promoting development. The methodological and analytical procedures used are from anthropology, but with intimate dialogues with the sciences that study the social, technology, history, education and artifacts. Observations were carried out in workshops and meetings of the embroiderers (free listening), interviews, participation in the WhatsApp group and records in field and photographic notebooks during the embroiderers' practices. In an effort to synthesize, it is noteworthy that the links comprised by the processes and artisanal, manual and artistic productions strengthen the maintenance of people, the sense of belonging and the appreciation of life stories. Within the context studied, women embroiderers tell about their realities and make symbolic and/or material resources emerge, translating the meanings of individual and collective experiences of the context in which they operate.

  • Resumen Espectáculo
  • The general objective of this research is to provide a social assistance diagnosis, at the municipal level, of some families registered in the Bolsa Familia Program (PBF), considering the worsening of the Covid-19 pandemic. According to the nature of the data, the research is classified as qualitative, and a field research is carried out. For data collection, a semi-structured questionnaire was prepared, which was applied to families registered in the Bolsa Familia Program. In view of the current scenario of the Covid-19 pandemic, contact was made by phone, thus following the recommendations of the World Health Organization (WHO) to maintain social isolation. With the data generated in the application of the questionnaires and with the data collected, an educational deficit passed from parents to children was identified, generating a low schooling of the family members. It was noticed that most of the interviewees did not finish elementary school, which may help to explain the high unemployment rate also analyzed in this research. With the pandemic, an increase in inequalities was identified, in which most public school students did not have access to online classes, but managed to deliver school activities in printed form. It was noted that most families did not have a computer or other similar equipment at home and that a good portion of these families had access to the internet. One way or another, it can be said that technology has been inside the homes of millions of people, regardless of their financial condition. It was also identified in the research that the main destination of the emergency aid granted in 2020 was for the purchase of food and that there was an increase in unemployment and a fall in the income of these program beneficiaries.

  • Resumen Espectáculo
  • CAPS are health services intended for the treatment and psychosocial rehabilitation of individuals with severe and persistent mental disorders and those derived from the abuse of alcohol and other drugs. Through the complexity of the work in these institutions, due to various factors, it is verified that this activity has impacted the health of its professionals. In this sense, Ergology emerges as a proposal to better know and intervene in work situations, aiming to transform them. This approach focuses on the worker who is not exclusively concerned with prescriptions, and makes uses of himself, discusses norms and values, promotes renormalizations to achieve the objectives of his work and, mainly, to continue his life and maintain his health. It is noteworthy, however, that as CAPS and Ergology are recent phenomena, arising in the 1980s and, consequently, the association between them is still very little explored in the scientific field, this study aimed, through a integrative review, to contextualize the use of ergology in various work contexts, directing the look to the field of Brazilian mental health, CAPS. And from this, analyze the contributions of Ergology to unravel the relationship between work and health. The search for studies occurred in the Google Scholar, Scielo and PubMed databases, through the use of the descriptors ergology, mental health and psychosocial care centers, in English, French and Spanish, together with the establishment of inclusion and exclusion criteria, in which 59 field research articles were identified, included in this review. The results indicated a strong presence of ergological analysis in the work contexts related to the service sector and a lower incidence of such approach in empirical studies associated with the primary and industrial sector, as well as a limited incidence of ergological analysis in mental health and CAPS work. The contributions of Ergology to unveil the relationship between work and health in the various work contexts, including caps, are precisely in the ability of this approach to highlight human activity at work, its choices, debates of norms and values, renormalizations and, from this, discover the experiences and problems that workers are submitted to. In general, research shows that in all work contexts, from the primary sector to the service sector, workers are subjected to numerous conflicting situations that can impact their health, whether through the existence of labor risks, precarious working conditions, high demands and labor loads, among others, reflecting the strong influence of social and economic antecedent norms, work environment and the choices made by workers. It is expected that this study will enable a greater discussion about the work-health relationship, specifically in the CAPS environment, as well as to promote greater knowledge and dissemination of Ergology and an incentive to conduct more empirical research supported by this approach, especially in the contexts of mental health services and CAPS.

  • Understanding the relationship between eating practices and work in agriculture can contribute to the development of actions, strategies and proposals for improving the quality of life and health in rural areas. Discussions about the consequences of the current food production system for human health are opening space for a production model that is more coherent with the concept of food and nutrition security, agroecology. The study aims to analyze the relationship between work processes and the consequences on worker health, associated with the eating habits of agroecological farmers. The research, with a qualitative and quantitative approach, was designed as a cross-sectional study, with agroecological farmers from RAMA - Mantiqueira Agroecological Network, which includes ten municipalities located in the south of Minas Gerais. Data collection took place through the use of two complementary methods, the “Collective Subject Discourse” (DSC) and the food frequency questionnaire (FFQ), structured on eating habits, how to obtain food, how this group relates their conceptions, practices and eating habits with work in agriculture and how they understand their own health at work. Healthy eating practices were identified, such as having all three large meals of the day (breakfast, lunch and dinner) and small snacks between these meals, thus consuming a greater amount of protective foods (fruits and vegetables) and a minimum of health risk foods. The results also point out that a significant part of the interviewed farmers (34%) opted for a vegetarian diet or are in the process of reducing meat consumption. The main foods purchased and the reason for choosing these foods, according to the farmers' report, occur mostly by their own work on the land, by exchanging with neighbors and RAMA partners and, when necessary, by shopping in markets. As for the feeling of working in agroecological agriculture, farmers report feelings of pleasure, gratitude and learning to work with agroecology. When referring to the food they produce, they emphasize that they are produced “without poison”, which means that they are food without pesticides, attributing to their consumption an indicator of food quality, which in turn presents itself as an important health promotion.
It is concluded that the eating habits of the RAMA farmers are guided by the valuation of health and are closely linked to agroecological work and rural way of life. Such farmers believe in sovereignty and food security for rural development, and through their speeches it is perceived that they consider the work environment as a place for health promotion.

  • The Master Plan (MP) is an instrument present in Law nº. 10.257 / 2001, City Statute, which establishes guidelines for urban development and expansion.
Its main objective is to order the full development of the city's social functions, in addition to ensuring the well-being of its population. Thus, examining the Master Plans, under the understanding of the development used, aiming to improve the quality of life of the population in the cities, becomes a matter of great relevance. In view of this, the present study has as main objective to analyze the presence of development guidelines in the Master Plan of the city of Itajubá-MG, from a sustainable point of view, under the understanding of representatives of the civil society involved in its elaboration. As specific objectives, such as: (i) - Identify the development concepts to be followed; (ii) - Verify an understanding of the representatives of civil society, involved in the elaboration and application of the Itajubá Master Plan, on sustainable development; and (iii) - Check the positive and negative aspects of the proposals in the Master Plan Law. To this end, initially a documentary research was carried out on the Master Plan, identifying potentialities and weaknesses of the proposal and, through a semi-structured script, interviews were conducted with representatives of civil society, from the municipality of Itajubá-MG, which were recorded and later transcribed in whole. Finally, there is an adaptation to the content analysis for this research, according to Bardin (2011), creating categories for sustainable development, namely: social, environmental and economic development. As a result, one can infer an understanding, on the part of the research participants, of sustainable development as something related to durability, which is sustained over time, reconciling the 'grow without destroying', aligned with the capitalist structure, incapable of break with the current society's mode of production and consumption. It is concluded that there is no sustainable development in the Itajubá MP in an effective way, since the actions are focused on prioritizing economic development.

  • Modern slavery, present in today's society, is characteristic for maculating labor relations in society, in clear detriment to the worker and to national development. For this reason, this dissertation aims at understand the social representation of the discourse and the perception that public servants and agents acting in the fight against modern slavery in the South of Minas Gerais have, being these: prosecutors of the Labour and Federal Prosecution Service, labour and federal judges, federal police chief and members of the third sector. In specific terms, it was sought: (i) identify the predominant activities that exploit labour analogous to slavery; (ii) analyze the perception of the actors involved regarding the possible difference in the resolution of conflicts involving slave labour in the labour and criminal field; and (iii) discuss the possibilities of integrating the fight against slave labour among trade unions, articulations, Non-Governmental Organizations - NGOs and the judiciary. To fulfill these objectives, was realized a brief theoretical overview of the libertarian policies historically occurred in Brazil, demonstrated through the legislation of the abolitionist period that culminated in the formal and legal end of the exploitation of slave labor in the country. The historical study served as a theoretical cutout to analyze the characteristics of contemporary slavery, especially the way it occurs in the state of Minas Gerais. Regarding the methodological procedures, it is important to highlight that this is a qualitative, bibliographical, explanatory and documental research, with semi-structured and individual interviews with the actors involved, mostly in the south of Minas Gerais. The results of the interviews were based on the discourse of the collective subject, as proposed by Lefèvre (2017), which encompasses the central conceptions resulting from the questions asked. As a result, this study revealed that rural work stood out as one of the main activities identified that have already explored labour analogous to slavery in the South of the State of Minas Gerais, as confirmed by the data analysis of the Brazilian Institute of Geography and Statistics - IBGE, together with data from judicial processes and the Secretariat of Labour Inspection. It was verified, by the thought of the collectivity of those involved, that one of the reasons why slave labor subsists is social inequality, motivated by human greed, and that the divergence of understanding between labor and criminal law is not only verified by the tutelage law, but also by the need to fulfill a greater list of requirements for the configuration of the criminal type. Furthermore, it was possible to consider that the practices of exploitation of human beings in degrading conditions, with the consequent loss of freedom of choice and individual freedoms, imply an offense to their dignity as human beings, and may affect the development of the country, in the social and economic sphere, with great effects on the world of work.

  • This research has as locus the neighborhood Aterrado, in São Geraldo, in Pouso Alegre, MG. Its main objective was to apprehend how individuals and collected people are caught nowhere, as those who can put into question a relationship of development and economic growth, having as a problem the following question: what are the specific characteristics of the experience of Aterrado / São Geraldo, by look of the residents, in relation to the city of Pouso Alegre? Justify the need for studies and reflections on socio-cultural dynamics in marginalized territories of small cities and media, thinking of a culture as one of the vectors for local development. A proposal of an interdisciplinary character, in dialogues with different areas of knowledge and methodological resources, or which it was possible to value the research experience on the researched object. We sought to describe, from the perspective of residents, the sociocultural aspects of life lived in Aterrado / São Geraldo, using the following instruments: walks through the neighborhood; conversations with inhabitants; photographic records; graphic compositions (drawings, writings, embroidery); weekly contact with a group of embroiderers. This last space was chosen as a work delimiter, composed of women who live in the neighborhood and, during manual activities, weaves their narratives and continues their experiences, as which they served to format as articulations of this work. As a result, based on the constitution of an affective map of the embroiderers, the text is presented as cultural expressions of the neighborhood through the presentation of elements of conviviality and meaning that demonstrates life in the place.

  • Resumen Espectáculo
  • This dissertation is an investigation of possible connections between technological competition academic projects, the current Science, Technology and Innovation Policy and the Critical Theory of Technology, aiming at the promotion of social inclusion through technical systems in an interdisciplinary approach. In view of the finding that throughout the 20th century technological knowledge has become an essential character of societies, although such societies have been built amid antagonistic contexts of prosperity and poverty, opportunity and exclusion, effective means to hack technology and to redesign it from a more inclusive perspective are being studied. The contribution of this project consists of proposing a systematic mechanism to combat inequality and exclusion through technical systems of a university financed with public resources. The objective is to investigate approaching channels between the university and the civil society through technical systems of a public university and to answer the question: How can social demands be incorporated into technological systems so that the generated artifacts contemplate the interests of non-hegemonic populations? The methodology was started by the exploitation of the literature regarding social studies of science and technology, which alluded to the Critical Theory of Technology as a theoretical framework, and the choice of technological competitions as the object of study. The field research involved qualitative interviews and visits to the workshops. The interviews were handled by means of the content analysis of Bardin. The analysis of the interviews revealed that there is a positive response in students’ and teachers’ statements concerning a closer approach between the university and the civil community, in order to generate artifacts and processes aimed at the most vulnerable populations. The key question would be “how” to bring these social demands to the academic institution. It also revealed that, spontaneously, these issues hardly appear in the statements, if compared to the needs of the market. Finally, the results of the research evidenced great convergence in relation to the issue of “learning by practice” that emerged from different ways as a demand of political-economic contexts and as a response to this context in the pedagogical system. The “learning by practice” concept also appeared in students’ and teachers’ statements as effective and pleasant, suggesting a possible way for the exercise of designing technical systems with excellence and values such as equity and inclusion, meeting the expectations of the Critical Theory of Technology.

  • Resumen Espectáculo
  • The rural environment is not inert to the pressures inflicted on its territory and, therefore, strategies of production and social reproduction are important so that the core of this universe does not disappear. In this sense, family farmers who own small properties take on their own strategies to stay on the land or expand their size. Given this, how does a rural neighborhood take shape in contemporary ways, since there is a need for fragmentation of land during the passing of inheritance? Does everyone who receives a parcel of land continue to live in the neighborhood and have agriculture as a source of work and income generation? The research takes place in the Peroba neighborhood, located in the municipality of Itajubá, South of Minas Gerais, because it is a neighborhood where its residents have parental relationships and because it is a place where agriculture is the main means of work and livelihood. Thus, the general objective of this work is to explain the current configuration of the neighborhood in relation to the strategies, agreements and adjustments assumed by its residents in the possession and use of the land. This is because the land is threatened by inheritance, since it means the possibility of staying and working in the field, as well as guaranteeing the succession of rural activities and the ways of being, living and doing to the following generations. The configuration of the neighborhood around the use and possession of the land is presented through observations of the rural space, open conversations, semi-structured interviews and the elaboration of maps with the 25 farming and resident families. The focus given in this work is on the forms of use, possession and ownership of land as resources and strategies that guarantee life in the countryside, enabling work, income and perspectives in the neighborhood. It is possible to identify that staying in the neighborhood is conditioned to who has the first use of land, which guarantees their possession and, only then, their property is legitimized with inheritance, configured by a path marked by intrafamily arrangements and forms of cooperation. linked to the broader kinship in reconciliation with the Civil Code. This condition is aimed at and materializes in the creation and development of a base of resources that allow survival and perspectives for its rural population.

  • Based on the concepts of digital literacy and social development, this work intends to investigate how digital literacy can help the construction of criticality, within a hegemonically developed society, through the ability to search for information on the web, from a sample of people inserted in the digital Information and Communication Technologies (ICTs). The search for answers is done here through a bibliographic review. As a methodology, the research was established from the perspective of the digital ICTDs users and from the point of view of Digital Literacy studious authors. The researcher has observed digital literacy classes in a group with identity protected due to ethical issues. Furthermore, Dudeney, Hockly and Pegrum (2016) and Loveluck (2014) have been used as reasearch source. The discussion takes place in the context of digital ICTDs, which emerge as a promise of salvation thanks to the notion of globalization and universal access to knowledge, generating the premise of more egalitarian and developed societies. Would that even be possible? During the research, it was observed the contradiction existing in the traditional notion that links technological knowledge to development. The conclusion reached is that there is no way to measure whether digital literacy is sufficient to build knowledge and develop critical competence in individuals. However, it has important tools to alert them to the precariousness of information within the digital space.

  • This work presents a relationship between the theme of development, the field of Social Management and its philosophical roots in Habermas' communicative rationality and verifies the existence of elements of these theoretical references in the 2017-2019 management of the Pessegueiro Neighborhood Residents Association (AMBP), from Itajubá/MG. The research of this neighborhood and its residents' association took place in a qualitative way, through the circular sequence method of social research, participatory methodology and theoretical and methodological interdisciplinarity. As tools, a socioeconomic questionnaire was used with the residents of the neighborhood; participatory workshops with members of the AMBP; semi-structured interviews with members and non-members of the association's board of directors, residents not connected to AMBP and ex-presidents of the association; participant and non-participant observation; and document analysis about the association and the neighborhood. With the results obtained, it was observed that the association's 2017-2019 management was relevant to the neighborhood and contributed to local development. In addition, it was found that this management had minimal elements of Social Management and communicative rationality, due to the centralization of its organization and the decision-making process, a common situation in social organizations. In addition, a space was identified in the organizational structure of the association in which it is possible to implement elements of Social Management and communicative rationality such as dialogue, participation, understanding and consensus.

  • Resumen Espectáculo
  • This work proposes to approach the quota students' understanding of the vacancy reservation system in a public university in the south of Minas Gerais, after the approval of Law 12. 711 of 2012 (Quota Law). Research is currently gaining relevance due to the implementation of a public policy that allows access to certain groups that have been away from the public university for many years. The objectives are: to identify how quota students understand the system for reserving places (quotas) at a public university in the south of Minas, describe the contributions and impasses of the quota policy in the view of quota students and investigate the conditions of access and permanence of students who entered the researched university through quotas. The guiding question is: what is the understanding of quota students about the reservation system (quotas) at a university in the south of Minas Gerais? In this study, research with a qualitative approach was chosen, which is characterized by being concerned with aspects of reality that cannot be quantified. As a data collection instrument, questionnaires were sent from Google Forms to quota students who entered the year 2016 from both university campuses and who were with active enrollment. The year 2016 was chosen because it was the first year in which the researched institution, in compliance with the provisions of the Quota Law, reserved 50% of the total vacancies for admission by quota. The research sample consists of 90 responses. Data analysis was performed based on the content analysis (CA) technique. With this methodological proposal it was possible to know the meanings of the phenomena that permeate the origin of the quota policy, as well as to know the students' understanding of the policy. The students' responses showed that access to university means diverse opportunities, access to knowledge, profession and achievement. It was found that quota students face barriers to stay at the university, such as: financial issues, psychological pressure, anxiety generated as a result of the disciplines, pedagogical difficulties, among others. Considering the difficulties experienced by this public and the opportunity of access to higher education as a means to have a greater development and improvement in the quality of life of the popular classes, it is understood that it is up to the university to turn its eyes on removing impasses and build affirmative policies to deal with the diversity related to class, race, gender, disability, among other issues brought by the new public in higher education.

  • This research proposes a study on cities as a communicative structure with levels of investigation that observe the city as a medium, media and mediation. From this perspective, the movement “Creative City, Happy City” of the City of Santa Rita do Sapucaí, state of Minas Gerais, is observed from the premise that the movement acts as a communicational device of the city. The movement announces a division into four axes of action, namely: technology, entrepreneurship, culture and citizenship, which are combined in the pairs “culture and citizenship” and “technology and entrepreneurship”. The composition of “technology and entrepreneurship” is guided by the concept of development, commonly understood by economic aspects, whereas “culture and citizenship” is guided by the city’s dynamics of life. However, under the aegis of technology, the city has been a guideline for transforming cognitive capital retention and technological export. Thus, it is necessary to reflect on what “Creative City, Happy City” is and how it communicates with the city and in what proportions it affects its dynamics and development. For research, an anthropological based methodology is used, with cartographic reference that counts on field research, participant observation, interviews and qualitative analysis. Epistemologically, Michael Foucault, Richard Sennett, Fabio La Rocca and other collaborators supported the research. This is an interdisciplinary study that supports discussions about development, technologies and society.

  • The research aims to describe the relationship between tax and financial incentives in the local productive arrangement (APL) of Santa Rita do Sapucaí - Vale da Eletrônica and its return to society as a development of the region. To this end, the research will show the historical path of the town in this task of introducing the technology and the industrialization process in the local economy through the participation of local educational institutions, organized society and especially the local government. The research is explained by the knowledge of a model based on the local potential, where the population has been experiencing benefits over the studied period. The survey of data related to the investments made by the town spanned the 20-year period (1999-2018), where the proposed analysis was to test the hypotheses raised about the influence of investments on local indicators and simultaneously on APL expansion indicators, above all responding to the inquiry of the role of tax and financial incentives as an instrument for regional development. The methodology used for the research was the study of the case, applying mixed techniques, quali-quanti: a survey of historical and statistical data from the location; and for the analysis of the data, the econometric method was used, through the analysis of the coefficient of determination and relationship between the variables. It was concluded that the investments made by the town had an influence and represented an essential factor for the economic growth of the location as well as for the expansion of the APL; the population benefits in some way from this growth, however, due to the 20-year sample, it was not possible to state that the location has already reached the stage of development, reflected in the other social indicators and in the standard of living of the population. There is a tendency for the stage of development to occur on the long term.

  • The general objective of this study is to understand the interaction between the potter, the
technologies, the materials and the artifacts through the bias of the actor-network theory,
materials engineering, design and territory and surface design, in Adamas atelier in the city of
Cunha, state of São Paulo, Brazil. As specific objectives, the research aims to investigate,
through socio-technical analysis, the process of making the ceramic artifacts elaborated with
the raku technique; characterize the microstructural properties of ceramic; to study ceramic
artifacts from the perspective of surface design through the representational, estrutural and
relational approaches; and to analyze, from the perspective of design and territory, the relations
between the artifacts made with the raku technique and the territory in which it is produced,
city of Cunha. As methodology, a ceramic workshop was accomplished in the Adamas atelier,
with the proposal of: a) being a punctual mechanism for the socialization of science and
technology, b) understanding the dynamics of the potter and the networks that permeate it, c)
collect specimens for the microstructural analysis and d) acquire the artifacts made during the
workshop to submit them to the analyzes from the perspective of design and territory and
surface design; In addition, ethnographic sociotechnical analysis is used in the Adamas atelier
to accompany the processes, products and their elements that constitute a laboratory research,
tracing humans and nonhumans in the process of creating the hybrids, which bind the potter
and materials territory. Furthermore, materials engineering was used by means of the
ceramography to obtain microstructural analysis, sizing of ceramic. Finally, in design
perspective, photo and 3D scanning were carried out for analysis from a design and territory
and surface design perspective. The relations between human and nonhuman actors, mediators
and intermediates are observed, many actors are involved in the construction of artifacts such
as clay, kilns, buckets, lathe, water, gas, experiments, techniques, potter, glaze, engobes, fire,
among other elements. The actors: potter, technologies and materials take turns as mediators
    and intermediaries all the time.

  • Within the area of "Development, Technologies and Society", this interdisciplinary research was carried out on urban development, from the redefinition of urban centralities centralities has been able to reorganize the reproduction of when confronted with the crisis of industrialization after the 1970s. Thus, the new urban centralities alter the morphology of the city and the experiences reproduced on it, provoking deep ruptures in the social dynamics and and economic development. The present research is guided by the following question: what are the implications of the growth of the Estiva neighborhood’s growth in the urban morphology and in the experiences of residents? It is justified in broadening the perception of society about the impacts of a new urban centrality, in order to contribute to the debate on urban issues of the municipality on which this study is focusing on. Considering the indications of a new urban centrality in Itajubá (MG), the research has as general objective to verify the implications of the growth of the Estiva neighborhood in the urban morphology and the experiences of Estiva neighborhood’s inhabitantes. Specific objectives are: (i) to demonstrate the growth of the Estiva neighborhood in the last 30 years; (ii) diagnose the Estiva neighborhood regarding the use and occupation of the land; (iii) verify the possible emergence of a new urban centrality in Itajubá (MG); and (iv) to investigate the perception of residents about the growth of the Estiva neighborhood. As a research methodology first it starts for a quali-quanti research. It is intended to use the documentary survey techniques as a secondary data collection, encompassing the relevant legislation and high resolution orbital images. The primary data collection will be obtained through the application of semi-structured interviews, with the residents from the region studied and with attendents of the municipal government of Itajubá (MG). Data processing and analysis were performed through the content analysis by frequency and by thematic categories, in addition to the use of geoprocessing techniques of satellite images. As a result, the Estiva neighborhood grew at higher rates than the rest of the city in the last 30 years, while it has 87% of its area still to be built. At the end it os displayed the residents perceptions about the growth of the Estiva neighborhood, indicating profound changes in morphology and residents' experiences. It was verified that according to the literature, the researched area indicates the emergence of a new urban centrality,

  • Resumen Espectáculo
  • The present study based at research on how Assistive Technology (AT) resources, understood as support tools that also assist people with disabilities (PWD) in the performance of their work tasks, can be disseminated and better used in a Federal Institution of Higher Education (FIHE). In order to do so, it relies on the following problematizing questions: how do AT resources enable PWD to remain in the institution's work environment? Is there any mapping of the working environment of disabled servers and the attitudinal, architectural, communication, and programmatic barriers encountered by them? What resources in AT are available to improve the permanence of these servers in your work environment? Preliminarily, it has understood that the university, for the most part, participates in the public policies directed to the PWD only by public bidding documents that comply with the Quota Law (Law N°. 8.213 / 1991) without, however, consider what difficulties these contractors will face in taking up positions because of an unprepared working environment. In this section, the relevance of the present study have been verified, since it will contribute to increase the academic productions that deal with the issues of permanence of PWD in the labor environment, which until the present moment are scarce. In order to reach the objectives outlined and to answer the disturbing questions that led to the development of this work, a qualitative research methodology was used that collaborated with the investigations of the relations that permeate the process of permanence in work by the PWD in the environment selected for the study. The data collection procedures used consisted of semi-structured interviews with the institution's employees that fall within the category of PWD. The collected data were analyzed through Content Analysis (CA), which by deductive inference will count on the rigor of objectivity and the fecundity of subjectivity to verify if a policy of insertion in the market without a permanence policy is enough to guarantee access to the rights of the PWD and to determine how technology can influence and improve this permanence policy. The results show that there is a lack of knowledge of the PWD regarding the AT resources available, as well as an institutional disregard for their disabled employees, which are reflected in the deficient adaptations of the work environments. In addition, other considerations about accessibility of campuses, differentiated treatment of the servers by the institution, and discussions on quota policies for PWD in public tenders are more detailed in the discussion of results.

  • Resumen Espectáculo
  • The urban environment is characterized by several problems that make cities unsustainable from a social, environmental and economic perspective. Many of these problems are related or caused by the transportation system, showing that urban mobility planning has the potential to promote sustainable development. One of the strategies to achieve sustainable mobility is the change in the habits of locomotion from the private to the public mode, through the provision of a quality urban public transport service. Thus, the objective of this work is to develop an interdisciplinary decision support model that integrates quantitative and qualitative factors to evaluate the quality of the public transport. It also seeks to validate the model through its application in Itajubá, Minas Gerais. It was used the methodology of multicriteria analysis, which is applied in decision processes of complex problems. The structuring phase of the problem showed that accessibility, availability of information, punctuality, public safety, frequency and price are the most used indicators for quality assessment. For the construction of the model, a hierarchical structure was used and the 25 indicators considered in this study were grouped into infrastructure, operational and behavioral. The attribution of weights to the elements belonging to the hierarchical structure was done through two methods. The first, method of stated importance, was used to determine the weights of the indicators and commuters of public transport from Itajubá were consulted. The second, Analytic Hierarchy Process (AHP), was used to obtain the weights of the groups and subgroups of the structure and specialists were consulted. For the commuters from Itajubá, the most important indicators are ability of direction, adaptation of the vehicles, punctuality and public safety. For the specialists, the infrastructure and operational groups have a greater impact on the quality of the public transport. The performance of the indicators was measured by the level of user satisfaction with the indicators. Thus, 220 questionnaires were applied. The disaggregated quality analysis showed that the following indicators are high priority: fare integration, fare, some characteristics of the bus stops, frequency and punctuality. Moreover, using a decreasing fuzzy function and the WLC (Weighted Linear Combination), it was determined the highest priority indicators by subgroup. The availability of information in the vehicles, the adaptation of the bus stop, the pavement, the frequency, the fare integration and the cordiality of the employees were emphasized. In the aggregated quality analysis phase, the WLC was also used to obtain the Quality Index for public transport in Itajubá. The value obtained for the city was 0.472, reinforcing the poor quality of the service. The government can intervene by offering subsidies, restructuring the bus stops and inspecting requirements demanded by the law. The company can contribute by providing information about the operation of the service and with an internal planning that ensures a regular, continuous and efficient service. The results provide technical support for the implementation of public policies and measures to improve the quality of Itajubá's public transport and a decision-making tool for monitoring the quality of service.

  • Resumen Espectáculo
  • This research aims to understand the context of access and permanence of People with Disabilities (PCD) in the work of private initiative, based on the Brazilian Laws, whose effectiveness and results were qualitatively investigated in the micro-region of Itajubá-MG. In order to do so, it sought to understand the theoretical, academic and legal conceptions about the Person with Disability; to see how the conception of development can influence the presence of minority groups in society, and to verify the effectiveness of the legislation, especially with regard to the insertion and maintenance mechanisms of PCD in the workplace. The idea is that contributions from several disciplines should permeate all the work, since they are necessary for the understanding of the research problem. It is based on a critical stance that medical science is still seen as the only one capable of conferring legitimacy to the diagnosis of disability, even when it ignores a social structure that not only prolongs but is sometimes the direct cause of disability obstacles faced by people living with disability. It analyzes the perception of representatives of the group of PCD, of labor recruiting officials in the companies of the region, and of members of the entity that supervises the legislation. Methodologically, therefore, a qualitative research was carried out, in which the object of study is not simply information, inert and neutral, but is embedded with the relations that the concrete subjects create in their actions. The results demonstrated that, despite the concern and commitment of the actors involved, the inclusion still faces barriers in its implementation.

  • Resumen Espectáculo
  • The complex historical and social construction of women has made it possible to form a social inequality, thus placing women often in a position of being subjugated. This position enabled the formation of a sexual division of labor, where women were either invisibilized or assumed other roles within the world of work such as reproduction and "production of new workers". Within this marginalization, the importance of analyzing social roles arises through an approach that also includes women in social and economic studies. In order to try to reduce this gap, the current research brings feminist economics as one of its theoretical axes, with the purpose of analyzing a critical analysis of the social construction of women's role and work in the Arts of the Earth Association. And since the social subjects of the research refer to the women of the association Artes da Terra, the other theoretical axis of the dissertation is the solidarity economy, with a proposal of alternative income generation and work for the model of production imposed by the hegemonic system. With these two theoretical axes the work aims to analyze how the productive and reproductive work links are socially constructed in the public and private places occupied by the women of the Artes da Terra Association located in the municipality of Itajubá-MG. Objectives will be reached, methodologically, through the use of the circular sequential method, the use of the conflict approach and, as instruments, participant observation, depth interview and document analysis performed with the women of the association.

  • Obesity favors many health risks, such as the onset and worsening of chronic diseases, the development of various pathologies and psychosocial sufferings. Rising rates of obesity and their comorbidities lead to long-term treatments that are costly for the health system. Public policies in Brazil should seek to reduce costs and the social problem of obesity. This research is a qualitative study that aimed to investigate the association between social determinants and the development of obesity in a municipality of southern Minas Gerais; in the different contexts that permeate the individual and collective, with the starting point in health. For data collection, a semi-structured interview was conducted and a questionnaire was applied with questions about the personal, family, social, economic and health characteristics of the interviewees. The semi-structured interview consisted of four questions about the meaning of being healthy, thoughts about obesity, factors that influence food choice and the most important factor for reducing the number of overweight people. The sample consisted of 30 people and the answers were analyzed based on the Collective Subject Discourse method. The most frequent core ideas in each question were analyzed and discussed. It was observed that understandings of health meanings were: “not having disease”, “feeling good about oneself” and “encompassing several factors”. The thoughts about obesity were: "negative feelings" and "very fat person". The factors that influence the choice of food you eat: “quality and health”, “personal taste and desire” and “financial conditions”. The most important factor in reducing the number of overweight people were: "emotional", "financial condition" and "healthy eating". The conclusion points to the relationship and interrelation between the themes explored, made it possible to identify the variables of social determinants of health and their interference in obesity.

  • Resumen Espectáculo
  • The demographic growth of Piranguinho aimed at the urban zone is opposed to the fact that the area legally destined to the urban zone is noticeably smaller than the rural zone. The urban and rural spaces are interconnected, making it necessary to reflect on the “urbanization in the rural”, seeking to understand the threats suffered by the onslaughts of the urban in the rural “living space”, giving voice to the subjects who have the land as instrument of economic and social reproduction. These subjects are family farmers, called family units and their perspectives on the occupied rural space, as a way of reinforcing the ways of living and existing of this population, contributing to real local development. The objective of this paper is to understand how the fractionation of rural space for the purpose of exclusive housing threatens family-based agriculture in the municipality of Piranguinho, affecting agricultural activities and rural development. The fractionation of rural space into areas smaller than the rural module makes it difficult for the landowner to support their rural activities on their own land and encourages real estate pressure affecting local development. The specific objectives of the research are to explain how the fractionation of the rural space with the destination of exclusive housing interferes with the agricultural and family farming practices and the “living spaces” of this population; as well as identify the rural neighborhoods with the largest space fractionation and the reasons for this fractionation by the urban-rural space classification and rural development approaches. The research is qualitative, with quantitative data because it is the subject of study of all family units in the municipality of Piranguinho. Data were collected from 102 family farming units in the municipality, as well as from the local EMATER assistance and extension technician, through semi-structured script interviews, which took place between May and September 2019. Analyzing the data presented, it was verified that family units are threatened by the fragmentation of rural areas in areas smaller than the rural module for the purpose of exclusive housing, causing water depletion, diminishing production spaces, decreasing security, increasing real estate pressure on the land and decreasing the hand. of rural work. All these changes bring changes in the “living space”, imbricated with the devaluation of products and family farming itself should be the object of reflection.

  • Resumen Espectáculo
  • This research investigated, in the field of developmental trends, education and environmental justice, the issue of water use in an agroecological school. It was justified by the importance of water, a finite resource indispensable to life, the availability of which is gradually decreasing due to its abusive and unbalanced use for a modernity project. The research sought to understand the concept of development, contextualizing it in historical time and revealed the theoretical insufficiency of its current concept, placed from the sixteenth century, facing social reality, demonstrating in the research the factual circumstance that the concentration of wealth and the expansion of the economy, by themselves, do not change the living conditions of the population, on the contrary, they may represent instruments of exploitation and exclusion. The research sought to demonstrate the relationship between man and the environment, finding results that reveal an attitude of arrogance, in which technology is applied in affront to natural processes, with the dissociation from ethics, replaced by greed for profit, with well-known consequences in the contemporary reality and other still incalculable. As a hypothesis, there is the possibility of the agroecology actions taken by the school to be characterized as a mere instrument of symbolic representation, detached from the principles of environmental justice. It was used as methodology the bibliographic research, observations, interviews and data analysis to achieve the objectives of verifying the existence of dialogue between school practice and the discourse of the agroecological movement and to understand, in parts, the student's relationship with the use of water. As a result, there are some contradictions in school practices, which represent an irrationality also present in all societies, regarding the common use of water.
